The Lake City High School volleyball team opened its season Wednesday with a three-game sweep of Lakewood.

The Lady Panthers knocked off Lakewood 25-22, 25-13 and 25-12 to earn the win.

Shaunice Fulmore had a great night serving with nine consecutive unreturned serves in game three as well as nine aces and seven digs. Jasmain Singletary added four aces and four kills, while Verndasia Alston had an outstanding game at the net with eight kills.

Lake City (1-0) will host North Myrtle Beach on Tuesday before traveling to Lakewood on Wednesday.
