Lake City High School crowned its Sweetheart King and Queen during Friday night’s basketball games against Loris.
Malan Wilson was crowned Sweetheart Queen during halftime of the boys’ game. Destiny Croker was selected first runner-up and Paulina Morales was second runner-up. Wilson was crowned by Maya Scott, 2016 Sweetheart Queen.
Jeremy Evans was named Sweetheart King Friday during halftime of the girls’ game. Jalen Barr was selected first runner-up and Marquez Robinson was second runner-up. Evans was crowned by Bill Hanna, 2016 Sweetheart King.
Contestants for Sweetheart Queen and King are chosen by the school’s student body. The school requires contestants to have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have had no discipline referrals during the current or previous grading period.
