The Lake City High School basketball programs placed three players on the 2016-17 Region VI-AAA All-Region Teams.
Senior guard Dyesha Lee scored 237 Total Points and averaged 12.5 points per game with 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.8 assists to lead the Lady Panthers. “Dyesha is a good shooter that can knock down the open 3-pointer or dish an amazing pass to an open teammate to awe the crowd,” stated Head Coach Charm Eaddy.
The boys program is represented by senior Tyshawn Baines and junior Tyrek Epps. Both are two-time All-Region selections.
Baines dropped 12.6 points per game while contributing 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 3.1 steals per contest. “Tyshawn is an athletic wing that applies relentless pressure on defense. He attacks on the break where he is an excellent finisher. Tyshawn will hit the open three when in rhythm,” said Head Coach Michael Manning.”
Epps led the Panthers offense with 13.4 points per game with 2.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 steals each outing. “Tyrek Epps is a point guard with speed, athleticism and the ability to score in a crowd,” stated Manning. “He has terrific body control. He has good handles and can get wherever he needs to on the floor.”
