Panthers News · Panthers Edge East Clarendon

The usual seven innings were not enough for Lake City and East Clarendon as the squads battled and scrapped for nine innings before Lake City pulled out a 9-8 win on Melvon Cooper’s walkoff two-out 2-RBI single.

Freshman Shaquan Epps provided five solid innings of work on the mound with 7 punchouts while allowing 2 runs before giving way to Austin Montgomery and Cameron Spates.  Spates picked up the win after coming on in relief and working out of a bases-loaded jam in the 9th.

8th grader Shamontae Burgess led the Panthers offense with a 4-5 night including a 2-run homerun while scoring four runs and swiping three bases.  Freshman Bryce McIntosh picked up two clutch hits late to keep Lake City alive while Shikeim Washington and Chris Burnett providing run-scoring hits.

Lake City will host Loris tonight (3/27) at 6:30 PM.
