Coed Varsity Cross Country · Panthers Post Strong Showing

Sumter, SC – The Lake City Cross Country teams provided another strong showing Wednesday evening in their final competition before region. The boys finished second, a mere 5 points behind 5A school Sumter High.

Sophomore Demaray Skipper continued his impressive inaugural campaign with a 2nd place overall finish. He missed out on 1st place by just 1 second after a fierce kick to the finish.

Seniors Irvin Fajardo and Jerrion Flowers finished 4th and 5th overall. Senior Chandler Gause finished 9th while seniors Austin Shake and Caleb Wallace finished 14th and 15th to close out the boys’ effort.

Junior Xzerrya Clark led the Lady Panthers with a 4th place overall finish. Junior Juliana Itehua placed 8th and senior Sarah Leiter finished 10th. Senior Haley Hardway came in 15th while 8th grader Lyla Bingham finished 16th.

Makayla Sheppard finished 20th overall to wrap up the ladies’ effort.

The Panthers return to action next Tuesday at Camden for the region meet. The ladies will run at 5, and the boys will run at 5:30. The meet is located at the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park.
