In game one of the Mingo Bay Spring Break Baseball Tournament, the Lake City Panthers fell 5-3 to the homestanding Myrtle Beach Seahawks. With the score knotted at 2-2 in the 4th inning, a two-out flyball was seemingly snagged via diving catch by junior CJ Barr. However, the umpire shocked both teams and the crowd by ruling the ball hit the ground. Unfortunately for the Panthers, that call allowed two runs to cross the plate giving the Seahawks a 4-2 advantage. Lake City scratched within a run in 5th before the Seahawks iced the game with their own run in the 6th to claim the 5-3 win. Lake City will travel to Carolina Forest Wednesday for a 6 PM game.
